The Pump House Cafe
The Pump House Cafe is situated in the Environment Centre and serves hot and cold drinks plus soup, teacakes, toast and locally produced cakes. Seating is available inside and also in the south facing garden. There is disabled access from the Gheluvelt Park entrance and disabled toilets.
The ethos of sustainability is central to the decisions made in sourcing food and drink for the cafe and the economic, social and environmental impact of purchasing decisions are paramount. We use Tyrrells in Leominster, the vegetarian food co-operative Essential Trading based in Bristol and Traidcraft online as our main suppliers of our fair-trade produce.
The cafe seating area is a meeting point for the variety of weekly groups that use the Pump House and is where the free holiday craft activities take place using WRE’s scrap as inspiration.
