The Duckworth Worcestershire Trust runs an annual litter picking campaign, Rubbish? Sort it! We aim to raise awareness of the issues surrounding litter and recycling and to promote positive environmental action.
Rubbish? Sort it! 2009
The ninth annual Rubbish? Sort It! campaign will be launched on the 30th of September 2009 and will run until the 30th of October 2009, the campaign this year is in partnership with Worcester City Council, Encams and Helping Hands.
The launch will take place at the King George V playing fields on the 30th September, where youngsters, staff and volunteers will start to do their bit to help tackle litter in their community. They will also have a chance to learn about the environment from the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust staff.
All age groups are welcome to organise a litter pick and become involved. Laura Chapman, Education and Information Officer for Duckworth Worcestershire Trust said “we are hoping that more people will get involved this year than ever before. Rubbish? Sort it! 2009 has already got several large litter picks organised, the more the merrier, as well as competitions and workshops available. Together we can make a huge difference in Worcestershire.”
The Trust is asking for individuals, community group and businesses across Worcestershire to help us with this year’s campaign. The Trust can lend equipment for events including litter pickers, bags and gloves, for registered groups.
There are also a series of workshops available to schools during the campaign. For further information please call the Duckworth Worcestershire Trust on 01905 734980.
