The Trust employs an Environmental Warden Team who work with local agencies and groups to maintain, protect and preserve Worcestershire’s varied environment. The Wardens carry out a variety of practical tasks within Worcestershire including:
- Litter picking/fly tipping
- Graffiti removal
- Community/school grounds development including design work and ideas
- Leading conservation volunteer groups at various sites within Worcestershire
If you are interested in any of the above please get in contact with our Senior Warden on 07968 477817 who will inform you of availability, opportunities and daily rates where applicable (discounts are available for certain groups).
Litter Picking/Fly Tipping
Many thousands of tonnes of litter are cleared from Worcestershire’s streets and greenspaces each year. Not only does litter spoil an otherwise attractive environment, but is also a public health hazard, can kill wildlife and pollute our watercourses.

We encourage community groups to take responsibility for ensuring their area is litter free and are always happy to offer help and support to anyone organising a litter pick.
Graffiti Removal
We aim to offer a rapid response to reports of racist and offensive graffiti, moving to other cases as our workload permits. Our warden team undertake much of this work in association with Worcester City Council.

We take a three pronged approach to our graffiti work:
- Physical Removal – removing graffiti as soon as practically possible.
- Education – working with school and youth groups to raise awareness of the problems associated with graffiti
- Working with the local authority and police to catch or deter offenders.
We will target privately owned buildings affected by graffiti that are highly visible from public areas. We ask that Property owners or members of the public first report instances of graffiti to the relevant local authority. The Environmental Health Department will then ask the Trust to respond to requests, if appropriate.
We ask property owners to sign an indemnity form before starting work and offer competitive rates for businesses to cover our costs.
Community/School Grounds
The Warden Team have been actively involved in a wide variety of practical and educational projects within many schools and communities in Worcestershire.

They are always available to assist schools with their future developments/projects and can offer advice, information and hands-on practical assistance for such projects as forest schools, wildlife gardens, ponds, and raised beds to name but a few.
Conservation Volunteering Groups
The Warden Team run conservation days on a regular basis but they can also offer a specific day out for a small group of up to 20 people to participate in a range of practical conservation tasks.
