Laura, the DWT Education Officer has a new programme of fun summer activities in 2008.

We currently have 3 vacant sessions for new volunteers at the Pump House in Gheluvelt Park. Prospective Volunteers would be working with existing staff and volunteers.Sessions last 3 hours and out of pocket expenses are paid.

DWT are pleased to announce that with the Worcester City Parks Dept and the Big Picture, the Pump House will be hosting a Big Picture event on summer solstice- 21 June 08.

WRE features in this months Bright Times- a free positive news paper made in Worcestershire.

In support of National Beanpole week , our team of wardens have locally coppiced bean poles for sale at the Pump House.

Saturday 23rd sees the first event hosted by the Pump House Environment Centre that is connected to the Big Picture event that is being organised around the city's parks and green spaces.

The Duckworth Worcestershire Trust wardens have been coppicing in Shrawley Wood in order to provide materials for hedge laying.

In 2005 five ex heart patients selected a two mile route and set about attracting participants. Last month the Pitchcroft Pacers celebrated a year of walking.

Primary schools have visited the Environment Centre throughout the Autumn term to learn more about what can be recycled and where their rubbish ends up.

Five hundred native trees have been planted at Pershore allotments to create a new hedgerow.

The Pump House Environment Centre now provides an Ecover refill service for washing up and laundry liquid, as well as multi surface cleaner and fabric softener.

Improvements have taken place on Chapter Meadows. Two new way marked trails have been installed around the site as well as a flood level indicator.
