Inspiration and materials are provided and a simpler activity is available for our younger visitors.

The craft activity is available in the visitor centre’s

cafe area during opening hours between 10am and  4pm Wednesday 17th February to Saturday 20th February and is a drop in session so if busy please be prepared to wait your turn enjoying a cup of fair trade tea and looking around the Pump House exhibits. Disabled access and facilities are available.

March (all of the tasks in March are part of the ‘Grow with Wyre’ project and will take place in and around the Wyre Forest)

Assuming that the weather allows, our first task of 2010 will be held on the 13th January at Chapter Meadows in Worcester. We hope to continue with work we began last year, cutting back a hedge to prevent it encroaching any further on to the meadows. We intend to have a fire to burn the cuttings and to help keep everyone warm. Please bring a lunch, appropriate footwear and warm clothing. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided. Thanks to the City Council Tree team we where able to hang them high in the beech tree nearest to the Barbourne Road entrance.

In attendance where the City Council Park Rangers, Part of the OT team from Worcester Royal, The Worcester Home Educators and members of the local community and DWT staff.

The decorations will be available for all to see until Christmas.

This years theme was based on mental health well-being with the ideas of ‘tea and talk’ ‘hope and anchors’ and ‘food and mood’ being our inspiration.

All materials where sourced from WRE- Worcesters Scrap Store and where once business waste but now diverted from landfill for a new life as a creative resource.

The aim of this workshop is to create decorations for the large Beech tree in the formal part of Gheluvelt Park , which we will dress on Friday 4th Dec with the help of the City Council Tree Team.

Tree Dressing weekend is a internationally recognised event linking communities to nature through art and culture. This weekend marks the start of National Tree week in the U.K See www.commonground.org for more details.

This years theme is based on positive mental well-being with ‘tea and talk’ as our inspiration we have made large teapots, cups and saucers and biscuits for you to help us decorate.

Of course tea and biscuits will be on hand for all who participate!

The litter pick will last for approximately an hour. Most of the route will be on surfaced paths and will include hills.
