The Trust has good working relationships with a number of local schools and colleges. Education is an integral part of many of the projects we undertake. Activity The Schools Environment Fund

Description The Duckworth Worcestershire Trust's Schools Environment Fund offers small grants to schools in and around Worcester for projects which contribute to improving the schools natural or built environment or Education for Sustainable Development within the school. The Trust will contribute a maximum of 50% of the total project costs. Application deadlines: 1st January and 1st July.

Activity Food Miles

Description Food Miles is an hour long workshop suitable for KS1/2 and offered to schools within Worcestershire. The workshop considers where our food comes from? what impact our lunch has on the environment? what choices we have. The workshop links in with the Geography,Food Technology,science and Citizenship curriculum. It can also be used to support eco-schools.

Activity Pump House Environment Centre Visit

Description Groups are welcome to visit the Pump House Environment Centre during opening hours to see sustainable technology at work. Examples include: wind turbines, solar panels and ground source heating. There is information on display about water, waste and energy and a rain water harvester to see. This Victorian water pumping station which has been refurbished using a range of green building materials links with many curriculum subjects including: Citizenship, Design and Technology and Geography. A visit can also be used to support eco schools or an eco committee. Please contact the Education Officer to arrange a visit
