Summer 2011 Volunteer Tasks

Hi all, I should start by introducing myself; I’m Alastair and this week I joined the Trust’s environmental warden team. It’s a huge pleasure to be involved in such good work with a great group of people. I was fortunate to meet many of you on our recent vegetation management day with Worcester City Council and I look forward to meeting the rest of you over the coming weeks. Now with summer hopefully about to kick into full swing, there’s a busy season of work ahead of us and below you’ll find a list of projects taking us from June through to August 2011. If you’re not familiar with the new(ish) booking system yet, please have a read and follow the instructions so that we can get as many of you as possible out to each conservation day.

IF YOU ARE AN EXISTING VOLUNTEER

Please leave a message on 01905 730602 to confirm your attendance and whether you require a vehicle space if you wish to join the Trust on any of these tasks before Tuesday 8.00am.

IF YOU ARE A NEW VOLUNTEER HOPING TO JOIN THE TRUST AS A CONSERVATION VOLUNTEER (ON A WEDNESDAY)

Please contact Anda Phillips, our Volunteer and Community Co-ordinator, on 01905 730601 or email her at volunteer@dwt.org.uk at least a week before the Wednesday you wish to come out volunteering. This is so that she can arrange for you to have a volunteer induction and confirm availability.

Please bring appropriate footwear, warm/waterproof clothing, a packed lunch and any cold drinks that you may want. Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided. All tools and safety equipment are supplied by the Trust.
